Mets’ deGrom to Return Against Braves’ Rookie Blair

The Mets at Braves, Sunday’s game will feature the return of one starter and the Major League debut of the other.
Jacob deGrom will be back on the mound for the Mets. The Braves will counter with 23-year-old Aaron Blair.
deGrom has been away from the Mets since April 11 following breathing complications of his newborn son, Jaxon. Now, deGrom and his wife have returned home with their son and the right-hander was back with the team for the first time Saturday.
In his win over the Phillies, deGrom went six innings, allowing five hits and one run while striking out five. The starter was pulled from the game after six innings with a strained right lat.

Blair was promoted from Triple-A Gwinnett after tossing seven innings of no-hit ball against Durham on Tuesday. In three starts this season, Blair has allowed 10 hits and three earned runs over 19 innings.

Blair is ranked as baseball’s 54th-best prospect and fourth-best prospect in the Atlanta farm system.
