Chris Paul, in defiance of the odds, may have managed to have worse luck than Steph Curry.
Paul broke the third metacarpal in his hand on Tuesday night and left the Clippers game against Portland.
Assuming the Clippers advance to face Golden State, the first few games will probably be Pablo Prigioni vs. Leandro Barbosa at point guard.
Paul’s injury happened when his hand seemed to get caught in Gerald Henderson’s shorts as Henderson attempted a dunk.
It didn’t take him long to realize that something bad had happened.
All signs point to Paul missing about a month. The third metacarpal connects the finger to the wrist, and it’s on his shooting hand. If he has surgery and returns sooner, he’d be playing with a pin in his hand.
We wish Chris Paul a speedy recovery.
