Skiles Resign as Magic’s Head Coach 

Scott Skiles has resigned from the Orlando Magic after one season with the team. 

The 52 year old has been coaching for 14 seasons. Before becoming a coach, Skiles played for the Magic for five seasons and also was a part of the first Magic team in 1989-1990. He actually has the NBA record for assists(30) in one game. 
As the head coach, Skiles went 35-47 this season, missing the playoffs and finishing 11th in the Eastern conference. They are one of the youngest teams in the NBA. Skiles did win Eastern Conference Coach of the Month in November and December. He did lead the team

to 10 more wins than they had in the 2015-2016 season. 

Skiles’ contract had two more years left, with the second being a team option.
