NC State’s Horton Passed Away at 58 

Don Horton, former N.C. State football coach has passed away from his battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was diagnosed in 2006 and fought for over a decade. He was 58.
Horton is survived by wife, Maura, and their two daughters, Libby, 13, and Hadley, 8.

Horton’s career began in 1982, as a graduate assistant at Ohio State. Then his career also had him spending 10 years at Boston College before coming to NC State when Tom O’Brien left BC for State. Horton served as the offensive line coach from 2006-2012. In 2012, he became director of football operations for the program. 

He had coached in 12 bowl games while sending 15 players to the NFL.
