Rollins DFA by the White Soxs

The Chicago White Sox have designated Jimmy Rollins, 37, for assignment.

Rollins is three-time All-Star and 2007 NL MVP. He is considered one of the best shortstops of the last 15 years. He also won the World Series in 2008 with the Phillies.
He signed a minor league contract in February and ended up getting a lot of playing time. They hoped to use the veteran to help their top prospect Tim Anderson.
Rollins was batting .221 with only 2 home runs and 8 runs batted in.
