Robinson Leaving Football Due to Concussions

Son of basketball Hall of Famer David Robinson, Corey Robinson, has decided to no longer play football. He was a wide receiver at Notre Dame.
His reason for stepping away from the game is concussions. He has had three in the past year alone.
In 12 games last season he had 16 catches totaling 200 yards and one touchdown.

“After much contemplation and prayer, I have decided not to continue playing football due to multiple concussions,” Robinson said in a statement. “I couldn’t have come to this difficult personal decision without the incredible support from so many within the Notre Dame football program. I am extremely thankful to Coach [Brian] Kelly and his staff for the life-changing opportunity to play football at the greatest university in the world. I will continue to help our team as a student assistant and look forward to a great senior year.”

He was supposed to be ND’s lead receiver this season. His career total land at 65 catches, 896 yards and 7 touchdowns.

We wish him the best of luck in the future.
