Stanton Out for Rest of the 2016 Season

After being placed on the 15 day disabled list, Giancarlo Stanton may be done for the season. He is suffering from a left groin injury.

President of baseball operations Michael Hill said they are discussing whether to reach out to Alex Rodriguez.
Stanton was injured in Saturday’s game when he slid awkwardly trying to turn a single into a double and was tagged out. He did not get up so quickly as he had to limp off the field
At the beginning of Sundays game against the Chicago White Soxs, Stanton was only predicted to be out for 15 days but a MRI showed there is more damage than originally thought. Stanton has not made a full season out of the past three because of an injury.
Stanton has hit 25 home runs, 70 RBIs and his hitting .244.

The Marlins have also placed pitcher Adam Conley on the DL with finger tendinitis on his pitching hand. Conley is 8-6 in 24 starts with a 3.84 ERA.

Robert Andino and Hunter Cervenka were called up from Triple-A New Orleans to fill the two roster spots.
They are fighting for a playoff spot and to make their first trip since 2003.
